Overview

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician at SENAI, I was responsible for ensuring the operational integrity, safety, and reliability of machining equipment used in both educational laboratories and industrial training environments.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
Planned and executed maintenance routines to guarantee continuous and efficient operation of lathes, milling machines, grinders, bench grinders, and band saws.

  • Failure Diagnosis and Repair:
    Identified and resolved mechanical and electromechanical failures, performing component replacement, adjustment, and calibration to restore full functionality.

  • Parts Design and Manufacturing:
    Designed and produced replacement parts — including pulleys, gears, shafts, and supports — using turning, milling, machining, and welding techniques.

  • Welding and Fabrication:
    Carried out light structural fabrication and welding tasks to adapt or reinforce safety guards, covers, and supports, following technical standards and safety regulations.

  • Documentation and Traceability:
    Maintained detailed maintenance records and technical reports, ensuring traceability of all interventions and compliance with internal policies.

  • Operational Support:
    Assisted instructors and students in the proper operation, care, and safety of workshop machinery, fostering an environment of responsibility and awareness.

  • Workshop Organization and Safety:
    Managed tools, equipment, and maintenance areas, upholding cleanliness, order, and compliance with SENAI’s safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities – Equipment Maintenance Technician (SENAI)

Responsible for the development, execution, and control of preventive and corrective maintenance plans for machining equipment used in both educational and industrial environments, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, bench grinders, and band saws.

Main duties include:

  • Planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure machines operate safely and efficiently.

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electromechanical failures, carrying out repairs, adjustments, and component replacements.

  • Designing and manufacturing replacement parts, such as pulleys, gears, shafts, and supports, using machining, turning, milling, and welding processes.

  • Performing welding and light fabrication work for adapting and reinforcing safety guards and protective structures, following technical and safety standards.

  • Maintaining technical records and maintenance reports to ensure traceability of all interventions.

  • Supporting instructors and students in the proper operation and care of the equipment, contributing to a safe and functional learning environment.

  • Ensuring the organization of the maintenance area, tool management, and compliance with institutional policies and safety regulations.
